When businesses give back
As a business owner, it is not always easy to donate or give away money from sales to support local charities or causes. So, I like to try and find creative ways to give back and support those causes that are close to my heart.
Some of your may remember last year, in the midst of the lock down in NSW, I took on the challenge of running a solo 50km trail based ultra-marathon to raise funds for Be Centre. This year, I am planning on doing it all over again, but this time, I’m inviting my community along for the ride.

On September 4th, starting from St Ives Showground in Sydney, I’ll be running 50kms in the hope of raising a whopping $20,000 for children using Play Therapy.
While it’s relatively new in Australia, Play Therapy is increasingly being recognised as one of the most effective forms of therapy for children aged 3-12. As one of the largest specialist Play Therapy centres in the world, Be Centre is proud to be leading the way in making Play Therapy accessible to kids in Australia – transforming countless lives along the way.
There will be medals for everyone who takes part, no matter how far you run or walk. This event is about making a difference to a child in trauma whilst making a difference to your own mental health, getting out in the Aussie bush, meeting new friends, challenging yourself and feeling good about your achievement.
But there are other ways to get involved too!
I am looking for local businesses who may be interested in sponsoring – in particular our Trail Heroes medals. It will be a fantastic way to get your name in front of an Australian audience. I’d love to hear from you if you are interested. Equally, I’d love to hear from any business owners who might like to donate or support in some kind of way.
I would absolutely love to see any of my local business connections on the day. Let’s smash the $20k fundraising goal together! This will ensure that 10 children are able to participate in a 12-week play therapy program.
