- Friends describe you as a people-person.
- You hate the misuse of ‘your and you’re’ and irritate others with your grammar corrections!
- You are great at telling stories and are observant when out and about.
- You love to make new connections.
- You know your way around a computer, social media and maybe even websites and other small business software such as Mailchimp, Canva and Survey Monkey. And if you don’t, you want to learn!
- You are not afraid to ask questions, learn new skills, can think laterally and accept feedback.
So what do we do you might ask?
Well, here at Little Black Book Marketing, we are all about finding the most effective marketing strategy for our bricks and mortar clients. We aren’t into spending big bucks on Ad campaigns or following the crowd, but rather delight in brainstorming clever, cost-conscious marketing strategies that speak to the right people, with the right tone, at the right time. Â And ultimately, deliver bottom line results!
Little Black Book Marketing is an exciting, evolving and flexible place to work and we are looking to expand our team.
Offering flexible work from home hours (we are based in Seaforth), with some face-to-face meetings (on the Northern Beaches) with Susie (the founder) or local clients, this could be the ideal position for those keen for a varied and exciting role and ready to bring their fresh ideas to a friendly and innovative team.
Let us be clear though, this position isn’t for everyone.
Working from home requires dedication, commitment and outstanding communication. We need someone who is 100% focused on their contribution to our team, someone who is able to ignore the household to-do list, or the distraction of great surfing conditions! Don’t get us wrong, this role is perfect for fitting all of that in, but is all about managing your time efficiently. Each member of the team is relied upon and crucial to our success!
What can you expect from the role and us?
You’ll be researching, writing, sourcing images and creating graphics, so you’ll need a keen eye and be willing to learn. You will be on social media, observing shoppers, reviewing websites or maybe even following up journalists. No two days are the same at Little Black Book!
In return we offer flexibility around family and personal commitments. We offer a good starting hourly rate on a causal basis with opportunities for permanent part time for the right #5. We guarantee to support you and provide a friendly team of colleagues to work alongside. Hours will begin low, around 3 a week plus additional for training, but again, if you are our #5 and love working with us, then as we grow there are opportunities for you to grow with us.
If this role sounds like something you would love to sink your teeth into, then we are really keen to meet you.
Please send a short letter introducing yourself, tell us about yourself, your passions, what you want from a job, what you can bring to our team and any skills you have that you think make you our #5. We also want to know where you see yourself in a year and what appeals to you about this role. And because we are marketers that like to have fun and be creative, please answer this question:
If you owned a shop in Mona Vale on a busy street selling small interior products, high-end bags and accessories, gifts and unique curios, tell us how you would promote a new and exciting range of cushions/beanbags made from recycled materials with no more than $100.
And finally, pop down any relevant experience you have or knowledge of marketing, web, design software or PR and media skills and a relevant employee referee. If you have been out of the workforce for some time or this is your first role out of education, let us know and a college and/or personal referee will be fine.
All applications should be submitted by email to email@example.com no later than midday Wed 26 Jul 17. Applications after this time will not be considered. Please ensure you include all relevant contact details. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by Wed 16 Aug 17. The interview process will comprise of a face-to-face interview, followed by a task to complete.
Please note: As this is a work from home opportunity, candidates must have access to reliable Internet, a computer/laptop and a phone. Team meetings are often conducted over Skype.
